We are thrilled to announce that Emily Sarvis has joined our team! Emily brings with her over 10 years of experience in education, community engagement, and arts programming.

In her new role, Emily will be fundraising for and leading our Junior Civitan program. Her background includes a proven track record in project management, curriculum development, and leadership, all of which will be instrumental as she steps into this position.

Emily comes to us with a rich professional history in the Birmingham area. Most recently, she served as the Director of Operations for the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama’s DreamLab, where she managed daily operations, recruited community partners, and executed event calendars focused on leadership and STEAM. Prior to that, she held several roles at the Desert Island Supply Co., including Director of Publishing, where she led the development of arts and literacy curriculum and managed a large team of volunteer teachers. She has also served as a Community Development Manager for Woodlawn United and completed a fellowship with the Jones Valley Teaching Farm, where she trained in agriculture and food justice.

Beyond her professional expertise, Emily is a passionate advocate for leveraging creative arts to foster community growth and youth empowerment. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Alabama.

Please join us in giving Emily a warm welcome to the team!
