On December 19, 2025, at the Circolo Garibaldi in Sciacca, Agrigento, the inauguration ceremony of the Civitan Club Terre Sicane was held, a new service club affiliated with Civitan International.
The presentation ceremony took place in an atmosphere full of emotion and significance, attended by Avv. Giuseppe Picone, President of the Circolo Garibaldi of Sciacca, a historic cultural institution in the Sciacca area, located in the elegant building known as the “Palazzo dei Nobili di Città.” This symbolic venue, a landmark for the promotion of art, history, and solidarity, made this important moment of growth for the Civitan family in Italy and Sicily even more special, as the new club follows the establishment of the existing club in Palermo.
The event was attended by Civitan Italy national officials: Dr. Adele Mazzotta Lax, President of Civitan Italy, and Dr. Serena Angelini Parravicini, General Secretary of Civitan Italy, who brought official greetings and best wishes for the new club’s future endeavors.
Also present to deliver a blessing and words of support was Mons. Don Calogero Lo Bello, Archpriest of Sciacca.
During the ceremony, the Board of Directors of Civitan Club Terre Sicane was officially established as follows:

- Arch. Rosario Lombardo, 1st Elected President
- Dr.ssa Antonella Buscemi, Vice President
- Dr. Antonino Pisano, Honorary President
- Prof. Francesco Pisano, General Secretary
- Dr.ssa Caterina Ventimiglia, Treasurer
The Civitan national leadership, the religious authority, and all attendees extended their heartfelt wishes for a fruitful journey to the new Civitan Club Terre Sicane, its board, and all founding members. They expressed hope that the club will become an active and supportive reference point for the community, operate in service of local citizens, promote good citizenship, and pay particular attention to people with developmental disabilities.
Furthermore, the Civitan National Presidency, the religious authority present, and all attendees expressed their sincere wishes for a successful journey to the newly established Civitan Club Terre Sicane, its Board of Directors, and all Founding Members, so that they may become an active and supportive point of reference for the local community.
