Award Summary:
Civitans advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their fullest potential through the classroom, job experiences and other continued learning. Individuals with I/DD experience a number of benefits when fully included, and others in the community do too.

Club Service Projects in the Education & Employment Impact Area specifically aim to support individuals with I/DD in reaching their educational or employment goals. Some examples of these types of projects are book clubs or reading groups, volunteering with adult literacy programs, supporting agencies which provide employment for those with I/DD, giving scholarships to students with I/DD or I/DD professionals, school supply drives, and more.

A winning project will be able to show demonstrable impact on the target audience, can be easily identified as a project supporting families or community agencies serving those with I/DD, and meets a defined need for their community.

A single project or event may only be considered in one award category per year. Clubs are not permitted to submit the same project for evaluation in more than one award category.
