LEADership Civitan, a new leadership academy for Civitans, by Civitans, will provide leadership training to members looking to grow their leadership skills so they can make a significant impact in their clubs and communities.  The academy will include individual leadership development, Civitan history, our strategic direction knowledge, and network building to strengthen collaboration across all regions and international clubs.  Participants will leverage their individual strengths and knowledge to collaborate as a cohort on a strategic project that will have a positive impact on the organization.

Who is eligible to apply:  Any adult Civitan member in good standing who wants to grow their leadership skills so they can make meaningful contributions to their clubs, regions and Civitan International.  A member must be nominated by their club and certified by their region’s leadership.

When:  Leadership Civitan is a 2-year academy from July 2025 until June 2027. 

The Academy will begin in July 2025 with a virtual orientation and kickoff at the Civitan International Convention in Atlanta, GA on August 6, 2025.  There will be monthly virtual meetings from September 2025 – August 2026 and participants will ‘graduate’ from the instructional portion of the academy at the 2026 Civitan International Convention in Louisville, KY. The program’s second year will be focused on the strategic project and be virtual until completion in June 2027.

Tuition:  The total cost is $2,400, which can be paid over two years at $1,200/year.  This includes hotel accommodations and registration at 2 Civitan International Conventions, along with all academy program materials.  Academy tuition can be paid by members, clubs, or a small number of scholarships may be available at the regional level. NOTE: This does NOT include transportation to/from conventions.  

Process:  

1) Candidate completes this application form by April 15, 2025.
2) Club President completes the online nomination form by April 30, 2025.
3) Regional leadership certifies applicants and submits to the committee by May 15, 2025.
4) Participants will be notified of their acceptance into the academy by May 31, 2025.
5) Participants will accept their enrollment into the academy by June 15, 2025.
