Our vision is to be a global community where people of all abilities and talents make the world a better place.
Civitan Changes Lives
Civitan is the only service organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and through the Civitan International Research Center, we are helping find cures and develop treatments for autism, Rett syndrome, Down syndrome and many more brain-related disorders.
Civitans are Champions of Service
Civitan offers people of all ages the opportunity to selflessly serve their communities and make the world a better place. Whether building wheelchair ramps, developing inclusive playgrounds or fundraising for the Civitan International Research Center, we are a hands-on organization ready to roll up our sleeves to positively impact individuals in our communities.
Civitan Spans The Globe
Since the beginning, Civitans have united under a universal mission rooted in service. Spanning more than 20 nations in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Civitan is truly a global organization dedicated to serving others.
SPOTLIGHTS
Civitan is making a difference in our local community through service projects. We meet monthly and have a variety of options for members to choose from that are making a difference in the lives of those around us.
Camp Big Heart
Camp Big Heart is sponsored by the Georgia District Civitans. Each year over 300 special needs campers attend one week of three sessions, ages ranging from 7 to 70! Our East Cobb Club provides scholarships for campers
Clergy Appreciation Month
Local faith leaders are invited to share updates about their ministries and enjoy a delicious catered lunch at this annual event held each February that commemorates the courage and faith that the 4 chaplains aboard the USS Dorchester displayed in 1942

2d Wednesday of each month at Hudson Grille, 2500 Cobb Place Lane, Kennesaw) and 4th Thursday of each month at J. Christopher’s (1205 Johnson Ferry Road, Kennesaw)
Noon (lunch). First meeting of the month is joint meeting with North Cobb and Marietta Clubs.
Joint meeting with North Cobb and Marietta on the second Wednesday of each month at noon at the Hudson Grille located off Barrett Parkway near its intersection with I-75. Individual Club meeting fourth Thursday of each monthat noon at the J Christophers on Johnson Ferry Rd.

Club Meeting
Guest speaker: Kelly Hayes, the Executive Director of the McCleskey YMCA. She will talk about all that the Y does for our community. It’s WAY more than a gym! I hope your schedule will permit you to join us so we can give Kelly a warm welcome. I serve on the YMCA’s Advisory Committee so have some appreciation for all that the staff and volunteers do.
