LEADership Civitan Program Update
Learn • Empower • Achieve • Develop
The inaugural cohort of LEADership Civitan launched during the Civitan International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, 17 participants from across the US have attended monthly sessions to learn about leadership concepts and project management from professionals and educators and learned about Civitan departments and programs by staff and CIRC.
Recently the cohort entered the next phase of utilizing this learning. The cohort was asked to suggest strategic initiatives that would help Civitan International’s future. Over 80 ideas were compiled, analyzed, and voted on; with five initiatives selected for the cohort to research and make recommendations to the Civitan International Board of Directors to potentially implement.
Each project group is in the research phase of the project. Surveys are a big component of this phase to determine the interest and ideas of members for successful implementation of the initiative if pursued.
Take this survey today to help this group get the feedback needed for their project:

BYLAW AMENDMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED IN LOUISVILLE
One of the most important reasons to attend the Civitan International Convention is to exercise your right to vote. Attending in-person is the most impactful and fun way to participate, but delegates also have the right to join the convention virtually and have the opportunity to vote.
There are two bylaw amendments that will be considered during our Civitan International Convention in Louisville, August 19th to 22nd. Here is a preview of those two amendments:
The International Board has unanimously approved two key amendments: 1) transitioning the “Executive Vice President” title to Executive Director to align with nonprofit industry standards, and 2) separating the Treasurer duties from staff to a board-appointed volunteer for enhanced financial oversight. These changes, which aim to modernize our leadership structure and strengthen organizational transparency, will be presented for ratification by delegates at the upcoming International Convention in Louisville.
For the full article and detailed breakdown of these amendments, please visit our website at this link.
Per policy, the official notification of these bylaws and exact language/changes will be communicated in our May Civitan international Magazine.
