Our vision is to be a global community where people of all abilities and talents make the world a better place.
Civitan Changes Lives
Civitan is the only service organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and through the Civitan International Research Center, we are helping find cures and develop treatments for autism, Rett syndrome, Down syndrome and many more brain-related disorders.
Civitans are Champions of Service
Civitan offers people of all ages the opportunity to selflessly serve their communities and make the world a better place. Whether building wheelchair ramps, developing inclusive playgrounds or fundraising for the Civitan International Research Center, we are a hands-on organization ready to roll up our sleeves to positively impact individuals in our communities.
Civitan Spans The Globe
Since the beginning, Civitans have united under a universal mission rooted in service. Spanning more than 20 nations in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Civitan is truly a global organization dedicated to serving others.
SPOTLIGHTS
Civitan is making a difference in our local community through service projects. We meet monthly and have a variety of options for members to choose from that are making a difference in the lives of those around us.
Civitans Feed the Hungry
Some of our members came together at Roadrunner Food Bank to pack bags of carrots for hungry families across New Mexico.
Celebrating Over 50 Years of Hot Air Balloons
Each year, our club comes together to support Kiwanis by assisting with ticketing operations at the world’s largest hot air balloon festival.
Fellowship in Action
Our club regularly comes together for fellowship with one another—one of the values we cherish most next to Service and Knowledge.
Connecting with Community
For the 2025 Wreath Laying Project our club partnered with Rowdy Squad FO in Albuquerque to show their young adults what honoring our country is all about. Learn more about their group at https://www.rowdysquadfo.com or click the button below.
Honoring Those Who Served
In December 2024 our club partnered with Wreaths Across America to lay wreaths at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico our state capital city.
Honoring First Responder Clergy
Albuquerque & Rio Rancho Civitan Clubs came together this year to honor First Responder Chaplains for their service to our community in times of need.
Enjoying Fellowship & Amazing Pizza!
Club members gathered round at Slice & Dice Pizzeria in Albuquerque West to have some fellowship mixed in with laughter and some great food and board games.
Matthew Gives Back To New Mexico DECA
In March 2025, our club president, Matthew, served as a judge for the annual DECA State Career Development Conference in New Mexico. Fun Fact Matthew is a Proud Lifetime Alumni!
Civitan End Of Year Fun!
Our club had our end of year banquet and officer installation at the Hong Kong Buffett in Albuquerque and we got to have fellowship paired with some delicious food!
