Our vision is to be a global community where people of all abilities and talents make the world a better place.
Civitan Changes Lives
Civitan is the only service organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and through the Civitan International Research Center, we are helping find cures and develop treatments for autism, Rett syndrome, Down syndrome and many more brain-related disorders.
Civitans are Champions of Service
Civitan offers people of all ages the opportunity to selflessly serve their communities and make the world a better place. Whether building wheelchair ramps, developing inclusive playgrounds or fundraising for the Civitan International Research Center, we are a hands-on organization ready to roll up our sleeves to positively impact individuals in our communities.
Civitan Spans The Globe
Since the beginning, Civitans have united under a universal mission rooted in service. Spanning more than 20 nations in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Civitan is truly a global organization dedicated to serving others.
SPOTLIGHTS
Civitan is making a difference in our local community through service projects. We meet monthly and have a variety of options for members to choose from that are making a difference in the lives of those around us.
Lee County Special Olympic Bowling Tournament
Our club furnishes all the snacks and drinks for the bowling participants for their two or three day event. Members come and cheer on the bowlers as well support them and just have fun watching them compete.
Exceptional Foundation
Our club helps in cooking hotdogs for everyone to enjoy during their July 4th Celebration. We also help with the sponsorship of the ice cream truck. This is a great opportunity for our members to join in on great fellowship and fun while enjoying a grilled hot dog.
Flag Project
Our club displays flags in downtown Auburn during many holidays like Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, President’s Day, National Election Day, Flag Day and many others. These flags fly all day and give everyone a wonderful sight .
Turkey and Ham Smoking
Our biggest fund raiser, smoking turkeys and hams for Thanksgiving and Christmas, puts good food on our supporters’ plates, provides food for our Community Market, and funds to support our programs.
Bicycle Safety Programs
Bicycle safety programs in Auburn include 4th grade safety training in the classroom and practical exercises outside. We also sponsor Auburn Ride and Seek, a community bike ride every spring..
Juicing Apples at Pioneer Days
Pioneer Days in Loachapoka has demonstrations of old-time farming and crafts. Civitans and volunteers make apple cider with hand-turned equipment.
Special Olympics Bowling
Auburn Civitans support Lee County Special Olympics, including bowling, swimming, and track and field, as well as the Auburn University Wheelchair Basketball team.

Annual Awards Banquet
Club members come together for a night to celebrate Civitans for their accomplishments, install officers, recognize our Civitan of the Year, and enjoy a night of fellowship and good food.
