Please read carefully the following releases, waivers and policies, before agreeing and moving on to the registration form.
Convention Attendee Liability Release and Waiver; Indemnification
The undersigned (hereinafter referred to as “Attendee”) acknowledges, understands, confirms and agrees that Attendee’s attendance at, and participation in any activities, events and functions (collectively, the “Activities”) associated with, the 2026 Civitan International Convention (the “Convention”) could result in injury to Attendee and/or damage to Attendee’s property from a combination of factors including, but not limited to, dangerous conditions at, in or about any lodging, dining, meeting, recreational and/or other facilities utilized for the Convention and the Activities, transportation of Attendee to and from the Convention and/or the Activities, third-party vendors contracted to provide goods and services for the Convention and its attendees, unfavorable weather conditions, and other risks to Attendee from attending the Convention and participating in the Activities. Attendee fully realizes the dangers and risks to Attendee of attending the Convention and participating in the Activities.
In consideration of the time, effort and expenses incurred by Civitan International to host the Convention and plan the Activities, and as a condition to Attendee being permitted to attend the Convention and participate in the Activities, ATTENDEE HEREBY RELEASES, FOREVER DISCHARGES, AND AGREES NOT TO SUE OR BRING ANY OTHER LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE RELEASED PARTIES (AS DEFINED BELOW) WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION OF ANY NATURE WHETHER KNOWN OR UNKNOWN, WHICH ATTENDEE HAS OR MAY IN THE FUTURE HAVE AND WHICH COULD BE ASSERTED BY OR ON BEHALF OF ATTENDEE IN CONNECTION WITH ATTENDEE’S ATTENDANCE AT THE ANNUAL CONVENTION AND/OR ATTENDEE’S PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE, NEGLIGENCE PER SE, NEGLIGENT MISREPRESENTATION, PREMISES LIABILITY, TORT CLAIMS, BREACH OF WARRANTY, STATUTORY VIOLATIONS AND BREACH OF CONTRACT. The term “Released Parties” shall mean Civitan International and its officers, directors, managers, employees, agents, representatives, volunteers, assigns and successors in interest. The foregoing release and waiver of claims shall not apply to claims arising from the grossly negligent, reckless or intentional conduct by any of the Released Parties.
Attendee is aware of contagious illnesses, including the novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”), influenza and other illnesses, that are affecting people’s health. If Attendee experiences any symptoms of illnesses or has come into contact with another person who has a confirmed or suspected to have a contagious illness, at any time within a seven (7) day period immediately preceding the start of the Convention, Attendee agrees not to attend the Convention. If Attendee experiences any symptoms while attending the Convention or comes into contact with another person who has a confirmed or suspected illness, Attendee will immediately refrain from participating in any activities, meetings, or gatherings during the Convention.
In consideration of the time, effort and expenses incurred by Civitan International to host the Convention and plan and conduct the Activities, and as a condition to Attendee being permitted to attend the Convention and participate in the Activities, Attendee acknowledges and fully assumes the risk of illness or death arising from Attendee’s attendance at the Convention and hereby RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE, to the fullest extent allowed by law, Civitan International and each of its current, past or future officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives and volunteers (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any liability of any kind whatsoever that might occur as a result of Attendee attending the Convention and being exposed to or contracting a contagious illness. ATTENDEE ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY IS BINDING ON ATTENDEE AND INURES TO THE BENEFIT OF CIVITAN INTERNATIONAL AND THE RELEASED PARTIES. ATTENDEE UNDERSTANDS THAT BY SIGNING THIS ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ATTENDEE IS WAIVING SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS.
I understand and agree that I may be photographed during my attendance at the Convention and while participating in the Activities. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by Civitan International and/or its regions and clubs without compensation or notice to me.
Cancellation Policy
Requests for in-person registration refunds received at Civitan International Headquarters (CIH) before June 30, 2026 will be assessed a $25 processing fee. Requests for registration refunds received at CIH after June 30, 2026 through August 3, 2026 will be assessed a 50 percent fee. Requests received at CIH August 4, 2026 through August 18, 2026 are eligible for a 25 percent refund. Request for refunds of ticketed events will not be accepted after August 1, 2026. Cancellations due to bona fide emergencies (death or illness) will be honored, less the $25 processing fee, if received at CIH no later than September 16, 2026. No requests for refund will be honored after September 16, 2026. All requests must be received in writing.
Convention Policy
Registrant name badges will be required to attend ALL in-person convention functions, including general sessions, elections, workshops, and ticketed programs. These will be included in your convention fee and provided upon onsite registration. Thank you for your understanding.
