Our vision is to be a global community where people of all abilities and talents make the world a better place.
Civitan Changes Lives
Civitan is the only service organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and through the Civitan International Research Center, we are helping find cures and develop treatments for autism, Rett syndrome, Down syndrome and many more brain-related disorders.
Civitans are Champions of Service
Civitan offers people of all ages the opportunity to selflessly serve their communities and make the world a better place. Whether building wheelchair ramps, developing inclusive playgrounds or fundraising for the Civitan International Research Center, we are a hands-on organization ready to roll up our sleeves to positively impact individuals in our communities.

Since the beginning, Civitans have united under a universal mission rooted in service. Spanning more than 20 nations in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Civitan is truly a global organization dedicated to serving others.
SPOTLIGHTS
Civitan is making a difference in our local community through service projects. We meet monthly and have a variety of options for members to choose from that are making a difference in the lives of those around us.
SERVICE: Beads for Special Needs
As an Education & Employment Impact Area project serving individuals with IDD, Civitans accept unwanted Mardi Gras parade beads weighing thousands of pounds at various partner locations. The beads are divided and presented to SPED educators who must use them specifically for teaching skills in business, finance, and marketing.
SERVICE: Civitan Special Needs Family Egg Hunt & Lunch
As a Family & Community Support Impact Area project serving individuals with IDD and supporting family, Civitans partner with about 50 volunteers from school clubs to partner agencies who provide games & giveaways while the club offers a traditional egg hunt, a table hunt for mobilized youth, and a FREE lunch!
FELLOWSHIP: Green Grinch Holiday Social & Happy Birthday, Everyone!
Two of our signature club fellowships for members to enjoy! Both involve gift trading and celebrating our contributions as “builders of good citizenship.”
SERVICE: Gobble Wobble Food Drive & Bridge Run
Held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this festive, noncompetitive walk/run/roll over the Biloxi Bay Bridge provides a selected agency with nonperishable foods, which participants donate as part of registration.

17th Annual Bears on Patrol Drive-Thru
Held in September, this signature project involves a bear-icaded teddy bear drive-thru dropoff in D’Iberville. It has provided 17 first responding agencies with nearly 4,000 teddy bears to comfort vulnerable youth. A special prayer ceremony prior to the drive-thru involves a ringing of the Civitan Bell and moment of silence honoring the heroes and victims of the tragedy on 9-11-2001.

17th Annual Gobble Wobble Food Drive & Bridge Run
Festive run-walk-roll at the Biloxi Bay Bridge starting in Ocean Springs. Registration is on-site with nonperishable food items being accepted for Back Bay Mission in Biloxi.

Civitan Clergy Appreciation Week Candlelight Vigil & Reception
Civitans shall read the tragic story of The Four Chaplains and offer a candlelight vigil as part of a special program honoring local clergy and persons of faith. RSVPs requested.

19th Annual Civitan Special Needs Family Egg Hunt & Lunch
Free event with games & giveaways from partner agencies supporting youth with IDD as well as photos with Civitan Bunny! Registration required. Open to the families with youth who have IDD.
