One of the great opportunities we have as Civitans is to help fund our Civitan International Research Center. There are many ways to do that, but my favorite way is to raise funds is while enjoying a round of golf with fellow Civitans.

At the 2023 International Convention, we will mark the 30th year for the Breakthru Golf Benefit. I have participated in eight of the tournaments. It is always a great time of fellowship. More importantly, though, it serves as an opportunity for service. The greatest joy comes when the total amount raised from the benefit is announced. Many times we raise a hundred thousand dollars or more.

Just because you aren’t a golfer doesn’t mean you can’t participate. Many of the participants only play once a year in this fundraiser and you can too. The minimum a golfer needs to raise is $1500. We would love to have you join us!

If you choose not to play, you can still help by donating to any of the golfers. Clubs that donate will receive credit to the Civitans at the Helm program. Individuals may also donate by visiting www.CivitanBreakthru.com and find your favorite golfer. Please click the link to his or her page, and then make your donation.

By the way, if you don’t see a golfer you know, I’ll gladly accept your donation. I look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis!
