The worldwide mission of Civitan International is to build good citizenship by providing a volunteer organization of clubs dedicated to serving individual and community needs, with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.

In 2023, Civitan International will award four $1,000 grants to Civitan Clubs who develop a unique, inspiring and impactful community service project, which falls into one of the four Civitan Impact areas, and complete supporting documentation.

One club will win in each Impact Area category, for the best club project idea that can be replicated by other Civitan clubs. Funds must be used to carry out the described project in your community within one year of award. 

GRANT AWARDS

• Best Education & Employment Project Plan: $1,000 Grant

• Best Health & Wellness Project Plan: $1,000 Grant

• Best Family & Community Support Project Plan: $1,000 Grant

• Best Accessible & Inclusive Communities Project Plan: $1,000 Grant

YOUR PROJECT MUST:

• Serve the I/DD community

• Be easily replicated by other clubs in a diverse range of communities

• Bring awareness to Civitan in your community

• Fall within one of the four Civitan Impact Areas

GRANT PROGRAM RULES

• A club may only win in one impact area

• The project must be executed and completed within one year of funds being awarded

• Award winners must submit receipts and detailed actual budget to Civitan International

• Completed project pictures and testimonial

TIMELINE

• March 31, 2023: Club Project Grant Applications submitted to Civitan International

• May 20, 2023: Finalists make virtual presentation to the International Board

• July 2023: Grants awarded

• July 2024: Projects must be completed

• Make sure your project isn’t already being done by many Civitan clubs.

• The project may be a project your club is already carrying out, but wants to expand upon.

• Innovative, unique, and collaborative projects will be highly valued.

• Details, details, details! The more details you include in your project plan, the better!
